Ruby the Radio Dog
Ruby the Radio Dog, Teresa Jordan, and Hal Cannon in Salt Lake City.Ruby the Radio Dog is an extraordinary Labrador of mysterious origin. In 1992, a cowboy on the Pack Creek Ranch in southern Utah discovered her as a three-month-old puppy all alone in the middle of a large pasture and brought her back to headquarters. Anneliese Cannon and her French friend, Delphine Hummel, both 13 years old at the time and visiting the ranch, immediately recognized Ruby as a dog of extraordinary talent and brought her to Hal and Teresa's cabin. They had a serious, rational discussion and decided a dog was out of the question. They still don't remember which one of them said at the end of the conversation, "We're going to keep her, aren't we?" and which one of them nodded in assent.
Ruby is an advanced practitioner of Lab-Zen, and is happy wherever she finds herself. She travels for days on end in her rolling doghouse, naps on the concrete floor of Teresa's studio, sleeps in the shade on painting excursions, and is in a state of purest bliss when sniffing out the vast expanses of the American West.
