Links
Here's a list of links that we hope will be as useful to you as they have been to us:
Arts and Humanities
The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies provides links to all state arts agencies as well as many other arts organizations.
National Endowment for the Humanities State Councils page provides links to all state humanities councils.
The National Humanities Alliance has links to over 80 member organizations from the Association for State and Local History to the American Folklore Society to the American Academy of Arts and Science.
World Wide Arts Resources "was started in 1994 and established in early 1995 as a site to create the definitive gateway to arts information on the World Wide Web. We did start out with a small list of, I think, 10 sites! We now have hundreds of thousands of sites in our databases and have for example just redesigned our search engine. This attracts arts enthusiasts like you to our site searching for information on the arts. We do not serve 'junky' information or market unwanted merchandise. Pure and simple: We believe in providing effective access to the arts on the WWW."
The Western Folklife Center's mission is to preserve and support the expressive culture of the American West.
Environmental Organizations
Environmental Web Resources "is a comprehensive guide of hotlinks to environmental resources on the web. Here, you find listings of links for any type of resource relevant to environmental professionals: from corporate environmental reports, to databases, professional training services, law firms, legislation, environmental protection agencies, and professional organizations."
"Earth's biggest environmental search engine" connects to thousands of sites, organized around a broad list of topics such as agriculture, sustainable development, water, etc.

News
Headwaters News combs more than 100 regional and national newspapers and magazines every weekday and provides links to articles about the West. This is a wonderful resource.
"Headwaters News is a project of the Center for the Rocky Mountain West at the University of Montana and is funded by The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. We provide a daily snapshot of what is going on in the Rockies of North America, giving the changing West a tool to understand itself. In the months to come, we will expand, providing online forums and discussions. We aim to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas, and to explore how online journalism can best suit and serve the West."
Tidepool provides for the Northwest a service similar to Headwaters News, though it does not search as many sources.
"Tidepool is an online news filter that selects the top environment, community development, and economy news stories from more than 30 Northwest papers. It updates every weekday morning at 9 a.m., and it also features original weekly news and commentary."
Politics that Work
In their "practicing democracy" section, Headwaters News provides links to federal, state and provincial government in the Rockies. "We've provided links to the state and provincial legislatures.... We've also provided links to the federal representative's homepages, followed by their email addresses. If the federal rep doesn't have email, we've provided a phone number."
